Ingredients
  

Seafood
  • 1 pound raw shrimp peeled and deveined
Vegetables
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice about 8-10 limes
  • 1 medium red onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1 medium cucumber diced
  • 1 small jalapeño seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Prepare the Shrimp
  1. Chop the raw shrimp into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
Mix Ingredients
  1. Add lime juice to the shrimp, ensuring they are fully submerged. Let marinate for about 15 minutes until shrimp turn opaque.
  2. Add the red onion, tomato, cucumber, jalapeño, and cilantro to the bowl.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper, and mix well.
Serve
  1. Transfer the ceviche to a serving dish and serve chilled with tortilla chips or on its own.

Notes

For a milder ceviche, reduce the amount of jalapeño or omit it altogether.
