Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti or any pasta of choice
Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water to adjust sauce consistency
Garnish
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Cook the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Meat Sauce
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and water. Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the meat sauce and toss to combine. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
