Ingredients
  

Cornbread Batter
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal and salt. Gradually stir in hot water until a thick batter forms.
Fry the Cornbread
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, drop spoonfuls of batter into the skillet.
  2. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
