Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with chopped onions until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until well combined.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Pour milk evenly over the top layer and cover with foil. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the cheese.
  6. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
