Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Method
 

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt; bring to a boil.
  2. Add the flour to the boiling mixture and stir until a ball forms.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe churros into the hot oil, frying until golden brown.
  7. Remove churros and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon; roll churros in the mixture.
  9. For dipping sauce, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth.
