  • 3 cups fresh cherries pitted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a tart pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it.

  3. Gradually mix in sifted flour until combined. Press mixture evenly into the tart pan's bottom and sides.
  4. Toss pitted cherries with lemon juice in another bowl, adding sugar if desired.
  5. Spread cherry filling evenly over the crust.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cherries are bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool completely before slicing; serve chilled or at room temperature.
