Ingredients
  

Fruits and Vegetables
  • 4 cups Chopped fruits or vegetables Choose your favorite for canning.
Preserving Solution
  • 2 cups Water For boiling.
  • 1 cup Vinegar For acidity.
  • 1 cup Sugar Optional, for sweetening.
Spices and Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Salt For flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Optional, for flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and sterilize canning jars and lids in boiling water.
  2. Prepare fruits or vegetables by chopping them into small pieces.
Cooking
  1. In a large pot, combine water, vinegar, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add the chopped fruits or vegetables to the boiling solution and cook for 5-10 minutes.
Canning
  1. Using a jar funnel, fill the sterilized jars with the hot mixture, leaving 1/2 inch headspace.
  2. Remove air bubbles with a bubble remover and wipe the rim of the jar.
  3. Place the lids on the jars and screw on the metal bands until fingertip-tight.
  4. Process jars in a boiling water bath for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Remove jars and let them cool completely on a clean towel.
