Preparation
- Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 350°F).
- In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a rub.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin for more flavor.
- Open the can of beer and drink or pour out half of it. Place the can inside the chicken cavity.
- Carefully place the chicken upright on the grill using a chicken holder or directly on the grill grates.
Cooking
- Close the grill lid and cook the chicken for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Rotate the chicken occasionally for even cooking.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
